Meet HiBAR’s soap-free Curl Shampoo Bar and Conditioner Bar. If you have curly, coily, or tightly textured hair, this shampoo bar and conditioner bar are meticulously crafted just for you.
Like all HiBAR Shampoo Bars and Conditioner Bars, the unique shape is designed to fit comfortably in your hand for easy use. And don’t be fooled by the compact size—each shampoo bar lasts as long as 2 big bottles of liquid shampoo, and each conditioner bar equals 2 1/2 more.
Cup the bar in your palm, rest the long edge against your fingers. Use your fingertips to guide the beveled top through your hair.
Apply the bar directly to your very wet hair, massaging into your scalp and roots until you feel a lather. Rinse thoroughly.
The same way you’d store a bar soap in your shower – dry, away from direct water. HiBAR is designed to sit upright, helping it shed any moisture.
Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. To seal the box we use the shipping label. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!

It works great on my hair, but my partner and I like to take really hot showers. The humidity tends to make it a little softer than I'd like.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Lloyd! The Curl shampoo is definitely more prone to become soft due to the low amount of surfactants in the bar compared to our other shampoos. It can help to keep the shower open to air it out from humidity, as well as storing on a shower lift, to prevent it from getting soft. We're so glad to hear you love the shampoo otherwise!
I’ve been using the moisturize set for a while. This set makes my hair softer but if anything I think it makes my waves less defined and more flat. This is minor, but I don’t like that the colors for shampoo and conditioner are reversed from the blue set. It smells great though
Kristen, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I did notice that you mentioned your hair was wavy, whereas the Curl set is best for tight curl types 3 & 4. That definitely makes sense as to why it didn't work for your hair, it may have been too heavy on your waves.

It really depends on the length and thickness of your hair and how often you wash. We like to be conservative on this, rather than overpromise, so we say that a HiBAR shampoo bar lasts AT LEAST as long as a 24oz plastic bottle, and our conditioner bars last as long as a 32oz plastic bottle or more!
Yes, we're using almost entirely plant-based ingredients. We're all about getting rid of nasty chemicals. Plus, we hope to one day be accepted into the most demanding natural stores and co-ops, and so we're formulating our products with that happy far-off day in mind.
We use a blend of essential oils and other plant based ingredients to give HiBAR a gentle citrus aroma. It's just enough to give your shower a refreshing feel, but not so strong that it's going to cling to your hair. NOTE: Because the fragrance is from essential oils, the aroma is strongest when the bar is first removed from the packaging, and will soften as the bar is left out in the open.
