Cup the bar in your palm, rest the long edge against your fingers. Use your fingertips to guide the beveled top through your hair.
Apply the bar directly to your very wet hair, massaging into your scalp and roots until you feel a lather. Rinse thoroughly.
The same way you’d store a bar soap in your shower – dry, away from direct water. HiBAR is designed to sit upright, helping it shed any moisture.
Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. To seal the box we use the shipping label. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!

Curl Shampoo Bar and Curl Conditioner Bar work well for me. I used to shampoo with a popular national brand but they use plastic bottles, so I was looking for something else. A friend recommended Hibar to me and I decided to try it. I don't see a real difference in my hair between the two brands. But Hibar is not contributing to plastic pollution, so they win!! The shampoo lathers easily and the conditioner rinses out well. It's also easy to travel. I just wrap up the bars in wax paper. It saves space for other things in your quart sized plastic bag for liquids. I will say that for me, with short hair, the shampoo runs out before the conditioner, so I usually only end up ordering them together every other order.

I find that this shampoo works just as well as something like Pantene or similar brands. It's easy to travel with because it's not one more liquid. I just wrap it in wax paper. And it lasts a good while. Besides all that, you feel good because you are not contributing to the overwhelming plastic problem we already have.
A: Yes! Apply HiBAR shampoo directly to your very wet hair, massaging into your scalp and roots until you feel a good lather. (Remember, lathering is not really a measure of how a shampoo is working.) Rinse thoroughly.
A: It really depends on the length and thickness of your hair and how often you wash. We like to be conservative on this, rather than overpromise, so we say that a HiBAR shampoo bar lasts AT LEAST as long as a 16oz bottle, and our conditioners last as long as two 16 oz bottles.
Yes, we're using almost entirely plant-based ingredients. We're all about getting rid of nasty chemicals. Plus, we hope to one day be accepted into the most demanding natural stores and co-ops, and so we're formulating our products with that happy far-off day in mind.
We use a blend of essential oils and other plant based ingredients to give HiBAR a gentle citrus aroma. It's just enough to give your shower a refreshing feel, but not so strong that it's going to cling to your hair. NOTE: Because the fragrance is from essential oils, the aroma is strongest when the bar is first removed from the packaging, and will soften as the bar is left out in the open.
