Job Overview

The Manufacturing Assistant is an integral part of the manufacturing process. In this role the incumbent is primarily responsible for being part of a rotating team in the production of eco-friendly shampoos, conditioners, face washes, deodorants, and lotions. HiBAR’s manufacturing line includes machinery, molds, weights, hot pours, mixers, and other various equipment. Teamwork, consistency, speed, focus, dependability, and attention to detail are critical to meet the daily volume requirements of this position and to achieve departmental goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as a part of a rotating team to manufacture quality products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate safety equipment according to each area and/or machine’s requirements
  • Assist with maintaining records for lot tracing
  • Meet daily production goals
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with production team and cross-departmental employees
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvements
  • Follow all company guidelines regarding punching in/out

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Desire to make an immediate difference to our planet's environment
  • Experience in manufacturing; commercial kitchen or bakery; back of house restaurant; cottage food industry or shared kitchen is preferred, but we will consider training those who have demonstrated a willingness to learn and can follow documented processes.
  • Desire to be a part of a fast-paced work environment, and can easily adapt to change
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to focus on repetitive tasks
  • Willingness to take direction and make improvements
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of team
  • Good at communicating ideas and issues
  • Ability to follow instructions clearly and accurately within a timely fashion
  • Ability to learn from mistakes
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift up to 75 lbs, and work around strong scents and soap ingredients.
  • Dependable, punctual, and ability to work on-site according to departmental hours
