Apply the bar directly to wet skin to remove makeup, oil, dirt or sunscreen. Use the beveled edge around the eyes to remove eye makeup. Oil can be left on the face for 10 minutes as an ultra hydrating mask.
Use lukewarm water to thoroughly rinse away oil or gently wipe away with a wet washcloth.
The same way you’d store a bar soap on your counter or in the shower—dry, away from direct water. HiBAR is designed to sit upright, helping it shed away moisture.
Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. To seal the box we use the shipping label. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!

I was seeking a plastic-free alternative for makeup removal. This bar meets that requirement and, additionally, is simply awesome (even if you didn't care about avoiding plastic). Swiping it across my face , it is so smooth, depositing its oil to effectively remove all make-up and leaving skin silky smooth and clean.

i bought this bar a few weeks ago, but have only tried it twice. first time, it was hard to lather it/get it on my face, no matter how much water i used. second time was similar but i think with time the bar will soften up so that you can use it. it's a neat concept to have a package-free oil cleanser, i just need more time with it. for everyone else, i recommend grating the oil cleanser bar up into bit, word of advice to hibar, it may be better not to put the cleanser in this bar form, b/c it hardly lathered. maybe make it softer/the corners more rounded so it's easier to apply? or sell it in dissolvable chunks.
Ingrid, thanks for sharing your thoughts! It sounds like you are having trouble using the bar, because it is not being used as it should. If you look at the back of the packaging, it will give you instructions on how to use it. The bar should be applied to dry skin, so you should not be getting the bar wet or your face wet before applying the bar. It is not meant to lather.
Recommended instructions are to: rub bar in hands and apply, or apply bar directly to dry skin. Use the beveled edge for eye make-up. Massaging the cleanser on dry skin for 30 seconds to either remove makeup or remove dirt/oils from skin. After this, apply some water on your face from hands/fingers and massage to emulsify. Finally, rinse completely from face. I'm confident that if you try it this way, you will be much happier with the bar and it's performance! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

In developing this natural Oil Cleanser bar, we studied high end oil cleansers on the market, meant for a bottle, meant to be a liquid, and worked with it for over a year to make it a solid bar.Â
No, It does not contain any fragrance defined as an ingredient added for the sole purpose of scent. We use Blue Tansy oil and Cucumber extract as ingredients to enhance the performance of the bar. It has a light smell of blue tansy and cucumber. And the Blue Tansy is what gives the bar a light blue color. Based on our studies we discovered that most users do not want a fragrance in their face washes.
The pH is between 4.5 and 5.5, matching your skin's pH level.
Yes. In fact it's compostable as well. And we use plant-based inks. Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!
Our plastic free deodorant container is made from cardboard and is curbside compostable. They do compost and can be done at home, just like regular compost. But, if you are using the compost dirt to grow food, it’s probably best to use compost material like food scraps and other food grade, food by product material. You can compost our packaging to turn it back to the earth and use it as a filler somewhere.
