Love if

Love it so far!! Lathers great and smells great. Only thing I don’t love is how hard I have to run it to get the soap going - sometimes I worry I will break hair strands that way! I started rubbing my with my hand first to get it softer.

We recommend having both the bar and your hair very wet, and it can help to hold the bar under running warm water to loosen it up a bit. And as you mentioned, it definitely helps to work up a lather between your hands also!

Great shampoo bar

I love how my hair feels after using my Hibar volumizing shampoo bar. Easy to use and lather ups well. My scalp feels clean yet no harsh chemicals. Definitely will keep using this.

Best shampoo bar I’ve found!

I’ve tried many shampoo bars and most of them leave my fine, thin hair weighed down and definitely not feeling clean. This bar cleans my hair to the squeak and leaves no residue. I also love the shape! It’s so much easier to use than the traditional bar style.

Trusty and Practical

The Volumizing Bar does wonders for my baby-fine hair. But I am a fan of HIBAR bars in general. Not only do I avoid plastic, but the shampoo bars are great for traveling because they can also be used for face and body in a pinch, cutting down on unnecessary clutter.

  • Q: Does it lather?

    A: Yes! Apply HiBAR shampoo directly to your very wet hair, massaging into your scalp and roots until you feel a good lather. (Remember, lathering is not really a measure of how a shampoo is working.) Rinse thoroughly.

  • Q: How long does one HiBAR last?

    A: It really depends on the length and thickness of your hair and how often you wash. We like to be conservative on this, rather than overpromise, so we say that a HiBAR shampoo bar lasts AT LEAST as long as a 24oz plastic bottle, and our conditioner bars last as long as a 32oz plastic bottle or more!

  • Q: Is HIBAR natural?

    Yes, we're using almost entirely plant-based ingredients. We're all about getting rid of nasty chemicals. Plus, we hope to one day be accepted into the most demanding natural stores and co-ops, and so we're formulating our products with that happy far-off day in mind.

  • Q: What does HiBAR smell like?

    We use a blend of essential oils and other plant based ingredients to give HiBAR a gentle citrus aroma. It's just enough to give your shower a refreshing feel, but not so strong that it's going to cling to your hair. NOTE: Because the fragrance is from essential oils, the aroma is strongest when the bar is first removed from the packaging, and will soften as the bar is left out in the open.

  • Q: Will HiBAR turn to mush in my shower?

    No, not if you store it correctly, out of standing water, and away from direct spray from the shower.

  • Q: How do I hold HiBAR?

    Cup the bottom of the bar in the palm of your hand, rest the long edge against the lengths of your fingers, then use your fingertips to guide the bevelled top through your hair.
