Best deodorant ever

I've been using HiBar deodorant for a couple of years and it's the nest deodorant I've ever tried. Even the so-called environmentally friendly ones weren't as good.

Best by far

Hibar deodorant is the best plastic-free option I’ve found over my 5 year search. Other brands have irritated my skin, left thick residue, dyed my shirts, or didn’t work. Hibar is gentle on my skin, effective and smells nice. 5 stars!

Disappointed :(

I love HiBar's products and will swear by them to anyone who asks. Like many of their products, the plastic free deodorant is convenient and smells lovely. Unfortunately, though, it doesn't live up to HiBar's usual standard. I'm switching from Arm & Hammer so my body is pretty used to aluminum-free and natural deodorants. I was really hopeful that this would provide me a better plastic free option! Unfortunately, the formula doesn't seem to last long -- I need to reapply every 2-3 hours to keep myself fresh, and the tube is incredibly small for the price (4x the cost of Arm & Hammer of the same weight). That cost would be worth it for a great and long-lasting product, but that hasn't been the case for me. I'll probably try again in a few years if the formula changes, but for now I won't be purchasing this one again.

I love the earthy fragrance of the deodorant and love even more that it is plastic free!! Lighter to travel with is a bonus.

  • Q: Why isn't this natural deodorant working?  

    For some people, when trying a natural deodorant for the first time there can be an initial detoxing phase while the body expels toxins as it becomes accustomed to the aluminum-free, paraben-free ingredients. Additionally, body chemistry can play a big role in whether a natural deodorant is effective. For some people, certain scents work, while others don’t. We would recommend sticking with it but trying a different fragrance. Please feel free to reach out to customer service for more information.

  • Q: Does your aluminum free deodorant contain baking soda?

    Yes, but the baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is less than 5% of the entire formulation. We are also working hard at making a baking soda free version! Stay tuned further into 2023!

  • Q: Is ALL HiBAR packaging recyclable?

    Yes. In fact it's compostable as well. And we use plant-based inks. Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!

  • Q: Is HiBAR compostable?

    Our plastic free deodorant container is made from cardboard and is curbside compostable. They do compost and can be done at home, just like regular compost. But, if you are using the compost dirt to grow food, it’s probably best to use compost material like food scraps and other food grade, food by product material. You can compost our packaging to turn it back to the earth and use it as a filler somewhere.
