Like all HiBAR Shampoo Bars, the unique shape is designed to fit comfortably in your hand for easy use. And don’t be fooled by the compact size—each shampoo bar lasts as long as 2 big bottles of liquid shampoo.

Cup the bar in your palm, rest the long edge against your fingers. Use your fingertips to guide the beveled top through your hair.
Apply the bar directly to your very wet hair, massaging into your scalp and roots until you feel a lather. Rinse thoroughly.
The same way you’d store a bar soap in your shower – dry, away from direct water. HiBAR is designed to sit upright, helping it shed any moisture.
Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. To seal the box we use the shipping label. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!
Both Curl Shampoo and Conditioner leave my hair clean, soft and in good shape. So simple to use and lasts super long. Plus my scalp stays moisturized from one shampoo to the next.

I like the lather and results. I'm Caucasian and have loose curls that tend to be dry and damage easily. This shampoo and conditioner delivers. I don't like the smell or the shape of the bar. Very awkward to hold/use. The fragrance goes away and I just have clean, nice hair.

At first using a bar can feel awkward, but our recommended tips are to cup the bar in your palm, rest the long edge against your fingers, then use your fingertips to guide the beveled top through your hair. Otherwise, many customers find it easier to rub the wet bar between their hands instead to work up product, and apply with their hands instead.
For the fragrance, we went with a light, citrus blend of natural essential oils but we are sorry to hear it didn't sit right with your nose. We do have a fragrance-free Moisturize set that you may like to try! That one works well for dry and curly hair also. Please let us know if you have any questions!
I have only washed my hair twice with the shampoo bar. It took me a couple minutes to get lather. Once I added more water to my hair it worked. So far I like it.
Jami, thanks for sharing your review! Yes, we recommend using lots of water to work up a nice lather and it can also help to run the bar under warm water to loosen it up a bit. A: It really depends on the length and thickness of your hair and how often you wash. We like to be conservative on this, rather than overpromise, so we say that a HiBAR shampoo bar lasts AT LEAST as long as a 24oz plastic bottle, and our conditioner bars last as long as a 32oz plastic bottle or more!
Yes, we're using almost entirely plant-based ingredients. We're all about getting rid of nasty chemicals. Plus, we hope to one day be accepted into the most demanding natural stores and co-ops, and so we're formulating our products with that happy far-off day in mind.
We use a blend of essential oils and other plant based ingredients to give HiBAR a gentle citrus aroma. It's just enough to give your shower a refreshing feel, but not so strong that it's going to cling to your hair. NOTE: Because the fragrance is from essential oils, the aroma is strongest when the bar is first removed from the packaging, and will soften as the bar is left out in the open.
