Soap-free for a Healthy, Happy Face

Soap is a nope for your face too.

At HiBAR, we’re in the business of inspiring people to start the day off fresh with a little dose of optimism, in the form of a plastic-free bathroom. With the recent addition of solid Face Wash to our line of products, some might wonder how these amazing little bars differ from regular run-of-the-mill bars of soap. Well, HiBAR is definitely NOT soap. In fact, you used to have to buy a plastic bottle to get a facial cleanser this good.

What makes HiBAR Face Wash special is that we formulated using premium ingredients you might find in an upscale, spa-quality facial cleanser, minus the water — to make your skin beautiful without a plastic bottle. We knew this bar needed a “wow factor”, so we pulled out all the stops. They leave your skin dewy, soft and glowing.  And instead of soap, we formulated the base of our Face Wash with an array of 12 different amino-acids. Amino Acids are the building blocks that make up the proteins to form skin, and are an incredibly gentle cleanser. 

Why Amino Acids?

Soap can dry the skin and strip it of its natural oils.  Your skin may overreact and produce excess oil, which can lead to a breakout. Conversely, amino acids have amazing benefits to skin including:

 Which HiBAR Face Wash is for Me?

Our facial cleansers have been formulated for daily use on all skin types, delivering healthy, glowing skin (and a plastic-free planet).  We know that the beauty-conscious customer will not give up their reliable routine unless the alternative can deliver!  Renew is a gentle exfoliating bar that removes dead skin and stimulates the growth of new skin cells. Hydrate is a great choice for skin that is prone to becoming dry. And our Cleanse formula is a great all-around bar for daily use. 

Sensitive Skin

For those with sensitive skin or if feel a burn or itch after applying product or makeup, it’s especially important to steer clear of soap, fragrance, and harsh chemicals. Both Cleanse and Hydrate are good choices for sensitive skin.  Use warm water for the rinse, and don’t rub your skin when drying.  Instead, gently pat dry. {TIP:  I use one of my special curly hair hair towels}.  * Some exfoliating can irritate sensitive skin, so be sure to use caution if you add Renew to the routine.  Our Renew is incredibly gentle as well, and may work for your skin for occasional use.  Just be sure to test your skin to ensure compatibility. 

Oily Skin

You have oily skin if you have areas that are shiny or greasy and you may have large pores. A deeper, foaming cleanser, or the Cleanse formula is the best approach for you.  HiBAR Face Wash may actually change your skin type after regular use from Oily to Normal. You can alternate with the Hydrate and/or the Renew to brighten and refresh your skin routine. The best way to cleanse is to rinse with plenty of water after cleaning, and maybe follow up with a gentle toner.

Dry Skin

Your skin is dry is it is flaky, scaly or rough. For this skin type, use only gentle cleansers without alcohol or fragrance (all HiBAR Face Wash formulas are alcohol and fragrance free).  Those ingredients can lead to even more drying of skin.  Hydrate Face Wash is formulated to hydrate and draw in oils to your skin.  When washing, rinse with plenty of warm water.  Don’t use hot water, as it can dry out skin.  Be sure to exfoliate at least once a week with the Renew formula to get rid of flakey skin cells and make your skin glow. 

Normal or Combination Skin

If your skin is balanced, clear and not sensitive you have normal skin.  Combination skin is dry in some spots (cheeks) and oily in others (forehead, nose, chin).  Amino acids are perfect for both of these skin types.  All three HiBAR Face Wash formulas are great for Normal and Combination skin. When cleansing, apply a gentle cleanser with your fingertips.  Don’t scrub your face.  Rinse with plenty of warm water, then pat dry.  The Cleanse formula foams and goes a little deeper to unblock pores and clarify skin.  The Hydrate is creamier and delivers a higher dose of hydration for any dry areas, or during drier weather.  Interspersing the Renew in a few times a week, based on what works best for your skin, with either formula is a great way to stimulate new skin cells.
