    This tropical, non-drying oil moisturizes curls while maintaining a healthy bounce.

  • pracaxi oil in a glass dish. It is a brownish colored liquid.

    Pracaxi Oil

    This ultra-light oil penetrates and hydrates curls without weighing them down, and strengthens damaged hair.

  • stearamidopropyl dimethylamine in a glass dish. It is a white colored clumpy solid.

    Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine

    A lipid-based, feather-light conditioning agent that softens hair, reduces flyaways, smoothes-out flaws, adds shine and retains curls without weighing them down.

    Hydrolyzed Corn Starch

    An all-around tonic for curly hair, with excellent anti-frizz properties that help retain styling and reduce static flyaway.

    How to hold.

    Cup the bar in your palm, rest the long edge against your fingers. Use your fingertips to guide the beveled top through your hair.

    How to lather.

    Apply the bar directly to your very wet hair, massaging into your scalp and roots until you feel a lather. Rinse thoroughly.

    The same way you’d store a bar soap in your shower – dry, away from direct water. HiBAR is designed to sit upright, helping it shed any moisture.

Good for finer super curly hair

I went through a full bar and really loved it. I was debating between this and the maintain bar. FTR, my type 3c/b hair is fine in texture and with a pretty closed shaft...so heavier moisturizing products are generally a no-go. My hair has been extremely happy with the product. This will likely be my go to bar.

Long Lasting

Works wonderfully and I love the bright scent. My wavy floofy hair is now happily more wavy curly. For me, one conditioner bar lasts about as long as two shampoo bars for shoulder length hair.

Love this and was really surprised

I never thought I would like a conditioner bar, but I am trying to travel lighter and with fewer liquid items. I feel like my hair has held me back in the past from feeling like I could travel in a low-maintenance way. I gave this a try at home as a trial run. I shower at night, have used this to the best of my ability with getting the product all over my hair, holding it correctly, etc. Both times it doesn't quite feel as moisturized while I am in the shower -- but when I wake up the next morning, my hair is so soft and the curls are more defined that they've been with other liquid curl conditioners. I think I just need to get used to the feeling of it when my hair is wet and understand that it is doing it's job even if I don't feel it on my hair as much. I need to get better at doing the bottom layers of hair as well, but really excited about traveling with this and not feeling like I need so many liquids. Would love a better storage case for this unique shape that isn't a bag so that I can grab it from the hotel shower and pack quickly when I am on the go, or camping, etc.

  • Q: Does it lather?

    A: Yes! Apply HiBAR shampoo directly to your very wet hair, massaging into your scalp and roots until you feel a good lather. (Remember, lathering is not really a measure of how a shampoo is working.) Rinse thoroughly.

  • Q: How long does one HiBAR last?

    A: It really depends on the length and thickness of your hair and how often you wash. We like to be conservative on this, rather than overpromise, so we say that a HiBAR shampoo bar lasts AT LEAST as long as a 16oz bottle, and our conditioners last as long as two 16 oz bottles.

  • Q: Is HIBAR natural?

    Yes, we're using almost entirely plant-based ingredients. We're all about getting rid of nasty chemicals. Plus, we hope to one day be accepted into the most demanding natural stores and co-ops, and so we're formulating our products with that happy far-off day in mind.

  • Q: What does HiBAR smell like?

    We use a blend of essential oils and other plant based ingredients to give HiBAR a gentle citrus aroma. It's just enough to give your shower a refreshing feel, but not so strong that it's going to cling to your hair. NOTE: Because the fragrance is from essential oils, the aroma is strongest when the bar is first removed from the packaging, and will soften as the bar is left out in the open.

  • Q: Will HiBAR turn to mush in my shower?

    No, not if you store it correctly, out of standing water, and away from direct spray from the shower.

  • Q: How do I hold HiBAR?

    Cup the bottom of the bar in the palm of your hand, rest the long edge against the lengths of your fingers, then use your fingertips to guide the bevelled top through your hair.
