Is HiBAR soap? Nope.

Is HiBAR soap? Nope.

Sure, at a glance HiBAR looks like a bar of soap (of course, HiBAR is much cuter)—but that’s where the similarity ends.

Beyond HiBAR’s ingenious, fit-in-the-palm-of-your-hand shape is a high end, salon-quality shampoo. Just like the stuff that comes in a bottle—only better. That’s because there’s no water in HiBAR (the water’s already in your shower). And because there no water, there’s no plastic bottle.

Okay, so far so good. Now what about soap?

Soap is a no no for your hair. It’s highly alkaline (9 to 10)—and that can disrupt the natural pH balance of the scalp and hair follicles. High pH strips away the natural oils and can lead to dryness, irritation and increased risk of dandruff, flaking and split ends.

HiBAR’s family of shampoos and conditioners, on the other hand, are surfactant-based (the same stuff you’d find in bottled shampoo) and are well balanced at 5.7 pH. The only exception is HiBAR SOOTHE at pH level of 3, which is why we recommend using it as needed to help with an itchy, flaky scalp.

Other differences? HiBAR is formulated with plant-based conditioning agents and moisturizers that nourish and hydrate the hair—while soap leaves hair feeling rough, tangled and hard to manage.

Not to pile on, but soap residue can even accumulate on the hair and scalp causing further problems. And since it doesn’t completely rinse away, what’s left can weigh down hair and give it a dull, greasy appearance.

You get the idea—soap may have its place, but not in your hair. Instead, choose gentle, pH-balanced HiBAR solid shampoo bars and conditioner bars. There’s a specially formulated HiBAR for every hair type and need.

Goodbye soap, hello HiBAR!
