It works!

It has a fresh scent that kept me from having B.O. during a full week of site seeing in hot & humid weather. I may have reapplied once just for my own comfort. So happy to have found a product that’s plastic free and works!

Doesn't wick moisture... but smells good

I was really excited to try this product as I really want to go plastic free, and love the HiBAR shampoo and conditioner bars. I love the smell of the cucumber and rain, and I can usually smell it throughout the day, but the main gripe I have with it is that it leaves white marks on my clothes and doesn't seem to help with perspiration at all. As soon as I get a little hot or exercise, I always end up having sweat stains that don't go away. I like this product, but would love to see a better more anti-perspirant option.

Kylie, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! Our deodorants are natural deodorants, and are not antiperspirants, which would explain why this is happening. Natural deodorants do not contain aluminum, which is the ingredient that temporarily blocks sweat ducts to stop you sweating. Natural deodorants prevent odor, but do not work like an antiperspirant.

Although, it should not cause permanent sweat stains - are the stains still there even after washing your clothes? Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Best Natural Deodorant I've Used!

I've been using natural deodorants for years, everything from homemade with coconut oil to jar and paper tube varieties from other eco-friendly companies. This is by far my favorite. It goes on smooth and smells great, even after several hours, and I haven't had issues with the dreaded white marks you get with some deodorants. I like that the shape resembles typical store-bought deodorants, because it's easy to apply and will hopefully open more people up to trying natural deodorants. I was previously using Meow Meow Tweet deodorant, and I still do have some of that to use up. But this is now my go-to deodorant, and I think it will be for the foreseeable future!

  • Q: Why isn't this natural deodorant working?  

    For some people, when trying a natural deodorant for the first time there can be an initial detoxing phase while the body expels toxins as it becomes accustomed to the aluminum-free, paraben-free ingredients. Additionally, body chemistry can play a big role in whether a natural deodorant is effective. For some people, certain scents work, while others don’t. We would recommend sticking with it but trying a different fragrance. Please feel free to reach out to customer service for more information.

  • Q: Does your aluminum free deodorant contain baking soda?

    Yes, but the baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is less than 5% of the entire formulation. We are also working hard at making a baking soda free version! Stay tuned further into 2023!

  • Q: Is ALL HiBAR packaging recyclable?

    Yes. In fact it's compostable as well. And we use plant-based inks. Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!

  • Q: Is HiBAR compostable?

    Our plastic free deodorant container is made from cardboard and is curbside compostable. They do compost and can be done at home, just like regular compost. But, if you are using the compost dirt to grow food, it’s probably best to use compost material like food scraps and other food grade, food by product material. You can compost our packaging to turn it back to the earth and use it as a filler somewhere.
