Great Product!

It’s hard to find a good unscented deodorant. I used to use by humankind which was good but they retired the unscented option. I switched to native and was disappointed. It was messy and left stains. So far I’m loving the switch to hibar. It’s clean, unscented, goes on smooth, and works. Hoping there’s enough demand for it because options are limited out there for fragrance free.

Hard to apply

It's too hard; I'm trying to apply it, but almost nothing is coming off. Am I meant to wet it first or something?.

Madelyn, thank you for sharing your review. We're so sorry to hear the deodorant is hard to apply! It should soften against body's heat, and there is no need to wet the product. Can you please try holding the deodorant against your skin for a few seconds before gently applying the product? It should come off smoothly, but if not, please reach out directly so we can discuss this further. Thank you!

Impressive!

Over the past year, I have tried several of the natural, plastic-free, unscented deodorants. Some seemed to work for a few days, but then didn’t perform well. Others “pilled” on my skin rather than absorbing, leaving little bits of the product under my arms. Some, although advertised as unscented, actually smelled awful. I am not someone who sweats a profusely, but I can say that this Hi-Bar product is the best I have found for people who want to use less chemicals in the product and no plastic in packaging. Thank you for a great product!

  • Q: Why isn't this natural deodorant working?  

    For some people, when trying a natural deodorant for the first time there can be an initial detoxing phase while the body expels toxins as it becomes accustomed to the aluminum-free, paraben-free ingredients. Additionally, body chemistry can play a big role in whether a natural deodorant is effective. For some people, certain scents work, while others don’t. We would recommend sticking with it but trying a different fragrance. Please feel free to reach out to customer service for more information.

  • Q: Does your aluminum free deodorant contain baking soda?

    Yes, but the baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is less than 5% of the entire formulation. We are also working hard at making a baking soda free version! Stay tuned further into 2023!

  • Q: Is ALL HiBAR packaging recyclable?

    Yes. In fact it's compostable as well. And we use plant-based inks. Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!

  • Q: Is HiBAR compostable?

    Our plastic free deodorant container is made from cardboard and is curbside compostable. They do compost and can be done at home, just like regular compost. But, if you are using the compost dirt to grow food, it’s probably best to use compost material like food scraps and other food grade, food by product material. You can compost our packaging to turn it back to the earth and use it as a filler somewhere.
