Decent!

3 stars for helping the planet! The reason why this doesn't get 4 stars, is because it does contain some pore clogging ingredients. So if you are acne prone, make sure to look out for that. The reason why this doesn't get 5 stars, is because it is not very hydrating. In saying that, I live in Montana, where its very dry and I have very dry skin. This makes my face feel clean, but I'm definitely running to put my products on immediately to revive my skin! Really love to fact that its zero waste, but need something more hydrating personally!

Hi Sam! Thank you so much for sharing your review and thoughts. Our face washes are not pore clogging, so I am unsure which ingredients you are referring to. You may have seen “Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate” on the ingredient list and mistaken that for coconut oil. While this ingredient is derived from coconuts, it is not coconut oil. All of the oils we use are non-comedogenic and are formulated for sensitive and reactive skin, including acne-prone skin.

I'm sorry to hear that the product feels drying on your skin, however! We do recommend still following up with your skin care routine to seal in moisture. I will be sure to share your thoughts with the team and feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns :)

Great moisturizing face wash

Let's face it - bar soap can be a bit drying. I recently tried Hydrate Face Wash, which I use after my usual soap. The refreshing hydration is very nice.

Hi Peggy, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Hydrate face wash! Yes, our face washes contain no soap which makes it gentle enough for the skin. You mention that you have a "usual soap" that you use along with the Hydrate face wash - it should only be necessary to use our face wash to get your face cleaned. It is not recommend to use soap on the face, because it has a high pH that can be damaging to your skin and leave it feeling dry or your moisture barrier feeling damaged. Face Wash

I could not use the Face Wash, unfortunately. There must be an ingredient in it that I cannot handle. My eyes burned if I got any in my eyes and the bar had a smell so not good for people like me who are allergic to certain fragrances.

Patricia, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm so sorry to hear that the face wash burned when it got in your eyes, we recommend keeping it out of the eye area and not using for eye makeup removal to prevent this from happening.

Our face wash bars are formulated without fragrance, so there is no added fragrance that would cause allergic reactions in the bar. The face wash bars simply have a fragrance of the ingredients itself. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns, or would like to try a replacement of a different face wash formula to see if that works better.

I was really skeptical of this at first, the only other time I used a face wash bar left my face stripped of its natural moisture and it felt awful. Since starting to use this though, my face feels less tight and I don’t have to rush to get the moisturizer on like I did before. My skin is also clearing up a lot and my skin tone is becoming more even!

Like some other reviews mentioned, this can come apart easily if you’re not careful, but what I’ve found that helps alleviate that is to rub the bottom (where the water collects, leaving it really soft) on my face rather than the top and that has been working out very well for me.

Overall, I’ve been using this for at least 2 or 3 weeks and I absolutely love it, I will be buying more in the future!

    In developing these natural skin care products, we took a high end gentle amino acid-based face wash formula meant for a bottle, meant to be a liquid, and worked with it for over a year to make it a solid bar.

  • Q: Do your face wash bars contain fragrance? 

    No, all 3 facial bars are fragrance-free. Based on our studies we discovered that most users did not want a fragrance in their face washes.

  • Q: What is the pH level of your face wash?

    The pH is between 4.5 and 5.5, matching your skin's pH level.

  • Q: Can I use Renew as a daily face wash?

    Renew is a gentle exfoliating skin care face wash. It is recommended to be used a few times a week, just as you would any exfoliating face wash.

  • Q: Is ALL HiBAR packaging recyclable?

    Yes. In fact it's compostable as well. And we use plant-based inks. Our shipping materials are also either compostable, recyclable or biodegradable, including any packing tape or product protection. If it arrived in plastic, it did not come from us!

  • Q: Is HiBAR compostable?

    Our plastic free deodorant container is made from cardboard and is curbside compostable. They do compost and can be done at home, just like regular compost. But, if you are using the compost dirt to grow food, it’s probably best to use compost material like food scraps and other food grade, food by product material. You can compost our packaging to turn it back to the earth and use it as a filler somewhere.
